Husband and wife owners Jim and Carol Brandt have been committed to serving clients and the community since 1983.

Brandt Financial Concepts, Inc. (BFC) has been an independent, family-owned resource for personal insurance, employee benefits, wealth management*, education and inspiration for the last 35 years. While investing in cutting edge technology and vital resources, the firm has maintained the reputation of delivering superior personal client service with a mission to exceed expectations in all that they do.

The firm was incorporated in 1983. Carol Brandt was previously a sole proprietor and recruited fiancé Jim Brandt in that year, which is also the year they were married. The two began working together initially out of offices in Inverness before purchasing and fully renovating their current business location; a former residence built in 1877 which is located in downtown Palatine.

The Brandt’s are now celebrating their 35th year of wedded bliss this year, along with the business they have built, which serves the community they both love.

Carol Brandt is a co-principal and President of the company. She teams with Manager of Client Services, Kim Randall, who is an experienced benefits and HR professional. Both have a passion for helping others and going above and beyond, with a focus on health, wealth, fitness and longevity. BFC is proud to provide cutting-edge technology and benefit solutions with unique approaches that are tailored to the specific needs of their clients.

Financial and wealth management services offered are comprehensive and highly personalized – led by co-principal, Jim Brandt, who is the Vice President and CFO, along with Registered Assistant/Client Relationship Liaison, Sarah Miller. Together, they help private clients and businesses create fluid financial plans with tax-efficient investment strategies for the accumulation and distribution phases of their lives.

The BFC team is an engaging group who loves to educate their clients with a passion for what they do – and it shows. This experience begins with a warm and inviting greeting, all the way to the fresh baked cookies on the conference room table during client meetings.

For the past 30 years, Carol and Jim have been long-standing advocates of providing valuable training and mentoring through paid internships. They have been fortunate to work with some of the best and brightest high school students from the area and have helped to launch to launch a variety of careers. Many of the interns have continued to work for the firm through their college years and beyond. One standout includes a young woman who is now a third-year medical student after enlisting in the U.S. Army. Another is an MBA program graduate who interned as a sophomore at Fremd High School and worked at BFC while commuting to DePaul University’s Chicago campus.

Community involvement is also part of the intern experience, with each of them becoming part of the BFC team and family. Interns have shared that the training and guidance provided by BFC has helped them prepare for the professional positions they hold today in a variety of careers.

BFC is an independent firm, meaning they are neither limited or controlled in regard to the products and services they offer. Other services offered by BFC include their proprietary BFC Infinity Benefit Platform with benchmarking and real-time interactive analytics for modeling benefit and funding options (enabling employers to make smarter decisions in less time). Another offering, Everplan, is a complimentary military-grade and secure cloud-based membership that helps clients to collect, store and share information with their loved ones should the unexpected occur. BFC offers a range of these, and other resources, that are not found elsewhere.

To further celebrate their 35th anniversary and give back to the community, BFC is collecting donations of unexpired goods and non-perishable food items throughout 2019 to benefit the Palatine Township Food Pantry. The collection bin is in their office lobby at 134 W. Slade Street. The Brandt’s have also supported the Township’s Apple Tree Campaign for many years, collecting school supplies and backpacks for under-resourced children in kindergarten through 9th grade who reside in Palatine Township.
